The last two years have been a bit of a dud blog-wise. It’s not that I fell out of love with blogging, far from it. My illness just made it impossible for me to write. I’m still struggling, my concentration is not good (huge understatement), but I’m finally at a point where I can put pen to paper again.
In one of my many conversations about how much I missed blogging, and the community that formed around Chronically Katie, the answer suddenly came to me – bring Paul on as a co-blogger.
My illnesses have always had a huge impact on my cognitive abilities, but I’ve had a great helper in P. He’s had a huge influence on this blog over the years. I would never have managed to write as much as I did without him.
P is my biggest supporter and has done anything he can to help me with this blog. In fact, it was him who encouraged me to start CK when I thought that no one would care about what I have to say.
Over the last two years he has continued to encourage me, offering to do anything that would get the blog cogs turning again.
From encouraging, to editing, to ghost writing – he’s done it all.
However, I’ve never wanted to limit his creative energy and time to just my project. I wanted him to write what he wanted and get credit for his own work, not stay in my shadow.
Then I had a light bulb moment – why couldn’t he do that here? Because the blog is called Chronically Katie? Well, as I told him, Jack’s Gap isn’t called ‘Jack and Finn’s Gap’.
This blog has evolved far beyond its humble origins– as any creative project should – and he has been a huge part of every one of those steps. At least 50% or more.
So, at the risk of sounding like one of “those couples”, this is no longer my blog, but ours.
